America’s First Tree Course Is Coming to South Jordan, Utah
Walltopia’s climbable “tree” will open at the USU Bastian Agricultural Center in fall 2027
SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — November 3, 2026 — Walltopia, the world’s largest manufacturer of climbing walls and a leading maker of active-entertainment attractions, today announced that the first Tree Course in the United States will open in South Jordan, Utah, in fall 2027. The attraction is being built with the Bastian Family Foundation and Utah State University at the USU Bastian Agricultural Center, 2100 W 11400 S.
The Tree Course is a ropes course shaped like a giant tree. Its steel trunk can rise as high as 85 feet (26 meters), branching into levels of obstacles that start easy near the ground and get harder toward the top. A viewing deck at the summit looks out across the Salt Lake Valley and doubles as an event space.
“The Bastian family wants the Agricultural Center to be a place where Utah families come together, learn and get outside,” said Jake Anderson, representative of the Bastian Family Foundation. “The Tree Course gives kids and adults a reason to challenge themselves and see the valley from a whole new height.”
The course uses Walltopia’s patented continuous belay system: guests stay clipped in from start to finish, which keeps them safe and lets more people move through the course each hour.
“The Tree Course was designed to be a landmark, not just a ropes course,” said Yasen Nikolov of Walltopia Adventure USA. “It’s a structure people see from the road and want to climb. Bringing the first one in the United States to South Jordan is a milestone for us, and we expect it to become one of Utah’s signature family attractions.”
The Tree Course is designed for ski resorts, adventure parks, shopping centers and family entertainment centers. Operators interested in building one can contact Walltopia directly.
