Introducing the Self Belay – the First Climbing Connector of its Kind
The Self Belay just had its big debut at the IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando, and it was a great success!
The new climbing connector was showcased at Walltopia’s booth, where visitors had the chance to see and test the device.
For those who haven’t heard of it – the Self Belay is an innovative climbing connector, which increases safety in climbing and adventure centers by allowing users to climb only when they are properly attached to the auto belay device. The connector cannot be opened accidentally or on purpose during climbing, as users can connect to and disconnect from the device only when they are on the ground.
The Self Belay not only contributes to climbing safety but also helps operations by reducing the number of required staff members – participants as young as 5 years of age can use the device on their own, without supervision!
The device was developed by one of Walltopia’s partners – Safety Engineering, a company aimed to meet the growing demand for climbing safety-related products.
